Korat Koro Park Classroom visited the Phra Non Temple.
This temple is home to a large Reclining Buddha statue made of sandstone, which is not very durable. but still well preserved. The Nava people in the city of Sema built the reclining Buddha statue to represent the Buddha's nirvana. The people of that age assisted in bringing large amounts of sandstone and then carved them into bricks to create the statue.

The reclining Buddha statue of Phra Non Temple is  the largest in Thailand, and was built around 1200 BC; the same period as Thammasak, who is known as a representative of the Lord Buddha in the religious literature.

The Nava people in the city of Sema still retain their local wisdom of the sandstone found throughout the area. They have since built a large statue of an important Buddhist monk  and dharma shrine which has maintained its structure for approximately 1300 years. To this day, the shrine remains a spiritual center, and the Buddhist monk is a part of the history which will lead the location of Sung Noen into becoming a world heritage site, part of Khorat Geopark.
