Celebrating Earth Day and the 7th APGN Week with City Nature Challenge 2026.

🌿🐞 Celebrating Earth Day and the 7th APGN Week with City Nature Challenge 2026.
Khorat Geopark, in collaboration with its partners, has officially launched City Nature Challenge 2026: Khorat Paleontopolis, joining over 650 cities worldwide. The mission focuses on empowering citizen scientists to document biodiversity within the "Paleontopolis" area. This year, more than 50 participants have already joined the exploration mission.
⏳ The main activities are taking place from April 24 to April 27, 2026. A group of volunteers gathered to explore the flora of the Deciduous Dipterocarp forest, freshwater ecology, and birdwatching at the Dino Forest. This also includes independent exploration in other areas within a 20 km radius of the Thao Suranaree Monument, a unique part of Khorat where fossils are discovered in every direction.
The program began with a Pre-Event from March 31 to April 1 at the Khorat Fossil Museum. Expert researchers provided training on the iNaturalist application to ensure data collection meets international standards.
This event is not only a nature survey but also a demonstration of the Geopark network's power in the sustainable conservation of geological heritage and natural resources. Independent exploration will continue until April 27, 2026, to contribute to the global biodiversity database.
📝 If you are interested in joining this year’s mission, please participate in the City Nature Challenge Khorat Paleontopolis 2026 project to ensure our observations are counted globally at:
